YT29A型气腿式凿岩机适宜中硬和坚硬（f＝8～18）岩石上钻凿水平和倾斜孔，也可以向上钻凿喵杆孔，炮孔直径一般为34-45毫米，有效经济的钻孔深度为5米。根据巷道断面大小和作业条件可以配套FT160A型气腿FT160C型长气腿，FT160B型短气腿或FT170型气腿，也可以与钻车或钻架配套进行干、湿式凿岩。
